Lesson Sequence
Introduction (10 mins):
Ask Children what are the primary colours and show examples (5 mins).
Ask what is a portfolio.
Demonstration (5 mins):
Show materials and how to apply paint with pom poms.
Distribute Materials (5 mins) and Art Making (40 mins)
Call each kid one by one by name, and give them the paper with their name on it. Pass around the masking tape.
Once the majority of the kids are done with the masking tape, have them line up to grab the painting materials. Give each kid a palette with the primary colours, a sponge brush and and pompom on a cloths pin.
Break time for Snacks, washroom and those who finish early get colouring pages.
Step 1: Cover Your Name with Masking Tape. * Names will be already written with a black sharpie by teacher on a folded bristol board or large white later
Step 2: Use a Sponge Brush or Pompom and paint over your name with the primary colours, one colour at a time (Blue, Red and Yellow)
Step 3: When Paint is dry, gently remove the masking tape
