Materials
Cut out squares and triangles of coloured paper
Styrofoam trays or plastic bowls (to organize colours)
Scissors
Glue sticks and liquid clear glue.
A chalk pencil
Cotton balls
Mod Podge and glue brush
Large black cardstock paper

Project Steps
Warm-up: Rainbow Colouring pages.
Intro: Show students images of roman mosaics and introduce the definition of a mosaic. Show prototype rainbow paper mosaic and have the students say the order of the colours they see in the rainbow.
Step 1: Draw a large curved line with a piece of chalk on a black cardstock paper. It will mark the location of the red section of rainbow (Teacher can also do this step before giving the kids the paper).
Step 2: Apply a glue stick on the chalk line, and start gluing the red pieces of paper.
Step 3: Add the other colours of the rainbow, while respecting the order of the rainbow.
Step 4: With liquid glue , add cotton balls to form clouds at the base of the rainbow.
Red-Orange- Yellow-Green- Blue- Purple
Step 5: Apply Mod Podge on top of paper mosaic and black cardstock paper.
