1) To learn how to dilute thin out acrylic paints to create a more water-colour style painting. 2) Explore and reproduce a silhouette of a person or animal. 3) Become more familiar with the paint blowing technique. 4) Attempt to create an authentic image using the paint blowing technique. 5) Discover contemporary artists who use that technique. 6) Develop oral motor skills, awareness and coordination. 7) Adapt to the unpredictability of paint.

Vocabulary
Blow Painting Technique: Add water to paint and blow on it to create drip lines. Children could directly blow on the paint or use a straw. Hair driers can also produce interesting effects.
Silhouette: the dark shape and outline of someone or something visible against a lighter background.

Prototype Examples
Lesson Sequence
1) Introduction to Blowing Technique (5 minutes):
Show prototype and examples of real artists who use the technique.
2) Students pick a Silhouette and trace it ( 5 minutes) 3) StudentsPaint the Silhouette with Black Acrylic Paint (5 -10 minutes) 4) Demonstrate the Paint Blow technique (5 minutes) 5) Students explore the technique and create their artwork (40 minutes) 6) Students look at everyone's artwork (5 minutes)
Note: If the main project is finished early, encourage students to create another artwork that uses the same technique (example: peacock or jellyfish tail).
