Project Steps
Step 1: Fold a paper in half and write your name on it
The name should be written in the closed part of the fold and touch the bottom of the paper.
Younger kids can use block letters (adults can help them write their name if they are 5 years old)
Older kids can use cursive writing
Step 2: Retrace the lines of your name with a black sharpie marker.
Step 3: Flip paper over, and trace the lines of the name that can be seen through paper. Then open the paper. In this step you will have your name written in both sides of the paper.
Step 4: Trace the lines that can be seen through the paper, to make a mirror copy of your name.
Step 5: Rotate the paper from horizontal to vertical. The first letter of your name should become the head of the creature you will create.
Step 6: Use a pencil and add eyes, hands, facial features and other designs to create a creature from your name.
Step 7: Using a black sharpie marker, redraw over the lines of the creature you just created. Erase the pencil lines.
Step 8: Use colouring pencils or markers, to add colour the your image. And give your creature a name.
