Oil Pastel Dragon Eyes

Objective: To learn to blend Oil Pastels to create a close-up of a dragon's eye
Duration: 1.15-1.5 hours

Materials

Pencil
Mixed-Media Paper
Eraser
Oil Pastels
Q-tips or cotton balls
Reference Images of Dragon Eye

Project Steps

Step 1: Draw the Eye with a Pencil

Step 2: Pick 4 colours of oil pastel, and use the darkest one to retrace the pencil lines for the scales.

Step 3: Add a second Colour.

Step 4: Add a third Colour

Step 5: Add a fourth colour for the eyes and other details.
Step 6: Using a Q-tip or your finger, blend the colours of the scales.
