Mixed Media House Plants

Create your own Indoor Garden by mixing the techniques of drawing, painting and collaging 

Duration: 1 hour and 15 minutes
Technique: Mixed Media (drawing, watercolour and collage)
Theme: Indoor Houseplants
Age: 6-12 years 

Required Materials

• Scissors
• Glue Sticks
• Pencils
• Black Sharpies
• Magazines (Ideally on the topic on plants)
• Mixed Media Paper or Watercolour Paper
• Reference Images on Indoor Plants
• Watercolour Paints
• Colouring Pencils
• Ruler
  

Room Set-Up

Project Steps

Step 1: Draw a Horizontal Line across the page to be the table.

Step 2: With a Black Sharpie, draw a flower pot shape or vase shape on a magazine page you like. Cut out that shape.

Step 3: Glue 3-5 shapes on the horizontal line.

Step 4: Draw a different plant for each pot. 

Step 5: Add colours and paint to the image.
